How are you feeling?
Excited? Depleted? Hopeful? Discouraged? Healed? Grief-stricken? Are you excited to make new plans or are you content to stay the course? A mix of these? Something different?
No matter what you’re feeling, you are feeling it in a new year. The fresh context of a new year where a sense of evolution (conscious or subconscious) is on the horizon. The opportunity to feel something different, deeper, more expansive, more connected, restored. Evolution is always happening whether you’re trying or not. So, what if you leaned into it with intention?
I’ve been reflecting on my own intentions for 2025, which I love to frame as I AM statements. They remind me of how I want to feel and grow throughout the year. Here’s a peek at my list:
- I am learning new skills and ways of being
- I am prioritizing friendship and community
- I am living up to my highest potential
- I am a good, strong, patient, loving Mom
- I am stable and secure
- I am consistent in my spiritual practices
- I am fully present in my relationship
Rather than rigid resolutions, I lean toward intentions because, as a sensitive and creative person, I thrive with a blend of structure and flexibility. Can you relate?
I also like to tap into the energy of the year, the situation, or the idea of the intention to ensure moving forward feels right. While some tasks just need to be completed, some can wait. This helps my to-do list (and energy level) stay manageable.
As you enter 2025, think about how you want to approach this year. Whether you have long-standing traditions, are exploring something new, or simply going with the flow, the key is to tune into what feels right for you.
