Election Day Meditation

Hello? Anyone home?

Uh, yeah. So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. In the past few months, I’ve reached for my computer a million times but couldn’t bring myself to open a browser window. I went weeks without even touching my laptop, using every other device available so I didn’t have to come face to face with my slacking. I had written many things offline, but when it came to posting here, I just couldn’t.

Why?

Well, that’s a great question. Since my last post in August, I went on vacation, developed and proposed a training program, went through a bit of a health scare, and hosted a birthday party, in addition to the normal day-to-day. None of which should have caused me not to post.

So, why the drought? I haven’t actually figured that out yet.

As humans having experiences and emotions, this happens sometimes. To all of us. Sometimes we know exactly what’s going on. Other times, it takes time to figure out. Maybe we need to stay quiet in order to learn something new. Maybe we need to pay more attention to what’s going on around us. Maybe we need to heal.

Whatever it is, we need to listen, stay alert, and keep moving forward—even if it’s at a snail’s pace.

Have you felt this way before? How did you navigate it? What did you learn?
