I tried something new last night. I went to this wine and canvas thing with a new friend. It was a lot of fun! All of it. From our get to know you better dinner to learning about and becoming obsessed with Bitmoji. Not a wild and crazy Friday night I admit (wild and crazy doesn’t exactly fit into my life these days), but still, a great time. Surprisingly, this was a little outside the norm for me.
While I am an extrovert, my ideal evening is hanging out at my house with eight of my closest friends solving the world’s problems. So, it can be hard to say yes to something that takes place outside my house. But, when I push myself to say yes, 9 times out of 10, it’s great!
I realized this again last night. While we weren’t jumping out of an airplane or doing amateur night at the Funny Bone, it made me wish I would have said yes to more over the years. I may have more cool stories to tell, a wider group of friends, and maybe a few successful businesses under my belt. Oh, and, hundreds of custom art pieces.
But what if’s and should have’s don’t matter. Dwelling on missed opportunities is the EXACT opposite of helpful. Every minute is a chance to change something in our life that’s not working. Whether it’s a change in physical location or a change in attitude, change is always an option. Maybe not an easy option, but an option.
Sometimes a little change, changes everything.
