I don’t know about you, but the energy swirling around has felt like a lot the last month…unfortunately, with no end in sight.
In a world that constantly pulls us in every direction, cultivating patience and inner peace seems unattainable. However, beneath the noise, there is a deep, consistent river of calm—a place within you that is always at peace, always patient.
I hear you, “Great, but how do I even begin to access this ‘river of calm?'”
Patience: A Sacred Act of Trust
Patience is often thought of as the act of waiting—something passive, a mere postponement of action. But true patience is much deeper. It is a sacred act of trust. It is surrendering to the divine flow of life, knowing that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. Patience is not about doing nothing; it’s about embracing the present moment, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain, as we continue taking clear, consistent action.
When we cultivate patience, we are telling the Universe, “I trust the timing of my life.” And trust is not passive. It’s an active choice to release control, to let go of the need to force outcomes, and to accept that there is wisdom in the waiting. It’s in this space of surrender that patience transforms into power—a quiet, unwavering confidence that life is working for us, not against us.
What areas of your life are calling for patience right now? Where are you being asked to trust?
Inner Peace: The Deepest Form of Freedom
Inner peace is often portrayed as a state of calm, but let me tell you, it’s WAY more than that. Inner peace is freedom. Freedom from judgement, worry, the constant push and pull of the external world. Freedom to be who you are.
True inner peace doesn’t mean that we aren’t affected by life’s challenges, rather that we lean on the steady foundation we have created within, so that no matter what storms arise, we remain grounded in our sense of self.
To achieve this level of peace requires deep inner work. It asks us to face our fears, release attachments, and meet ourselves in our rawest, most vulnerable state. It invites us to release or integrate the old patterns or old wounds we still carry. Inner peace isn’t something we “achieve”—it’s something we uncover, already existing within us, waiting to be recognized.
This journey takes time, and patience is our greatest companion along the way. As we peel back the layers of stress, anxiety, and fear, what remains is stillness. And it’s in this stillness that our truest self emerges.
Getting started…
If this sounds like something you want to cultivate, start by carving out moments of silence, whether it’s 15-min or 2-hours. In those moments, simply observe your thoughts without judgment. Let them pass like clouds in the sky. As you practice this, notice the spaces between thoughts—this is where peace lives. Patience grows as you honor these spaces, allowing your mind to slow and your soul to speak.
Remember, both patience and peace are practices, not destinations. They live in the present moment as you choose to come back to yourself.
What would your life feel like if you embodied patience and peace daily? What would change?
I invite you to reflect on these questions this week, allowing their answers to guide you inward. The peace you seek is already within you, waiting for you to return to it.
