I know I’ve said it before, but I really don’t like the word happy. It implies a destination, like a finish line or something. Like once you’re happy, you’ve made it. SUCCESS!
That’s not the case. That feeling you’re striving for is the result of the choices you make every single day.
It’s choosing to give more weight to hope and joy than despair and hate.
It’s choosing to let the love and support you actually receive penetrate you more than the terrible stories you hear about on the news.
It’s choosing to move forward without holding a grudge.
It’s choosing to surround yourself with people who support you and your family.
It’s choosing to become more self-aware.
It’s choosing to become less judgemental and see the value other people have, no matter how difficult.
It’s choosing to know all of the good and all of the bad the world has to offer and choosing light instead of darkness.
Some may feel this way of living leaves them vulnerable, weak or naive. To them I ask, if you are so strong and protected, why are you unhappy?
