Also, meditation doesn’t have to be a guided, sit down type of thing. Modern forms of meditation include walking, biking, listening to ambient music, creating art or simply focused deep breathing.
Insights from meditation can come immediately or within a few hours. Typically, I’m flooded with creative ideas, insights, and courses of action for 1-4 hours following meditation, rather than during a session. Although, when I’m doing a moving meditation like taking a long walk outside with no music, I get flooded with insights immediately.
