Reiki for Exercise and Injury

I was thinking about Reiki for injury recovery for athletes. I have a few clients that are athletes and it got me curious.

I did a little searching and I found an article from the National Federation of Personal Trainers that discussed how Reiki can be supportive both for recovery and prevention of injury.

The clients I have supported who are athletes come in with pain, stuck energy, knotted muscles and mental stress from their sport. They leave feeling clear, less or no pain, relaxed and restored. As a reminder, there is no muscle or skeletal manipulation in Reiki, so if there are issues with tight or knotted muscles or bones out of place, contact a massage therapist or chiropractor.

In the is article the author states:

Reiki can be used as a supportive training aid for a consistent exercise routine. Not only can it help to boost overall performance, but it can also be used as a tool to promote healing in new or old injuries.

Here are some of the many ways Reiki can benefit your exercise regimen:

  • Lowers the risk of severe injury
  • Promotes focus and concentration
  • Centers the mind
  • Relieves sore, stiff muscles
  • Speeds post-workout recovery
  • Promotes healing in new and old injuries
  • Reduces healing time and relieves discomfort during the healing
  • Supports a feeling of calm, positive mental outlook, and a winning frame of mind
  • Re-energizes the body and relieves fatigue
