The Conscious Professional: Intro To Meditation

Countless executives tout the positive impact that meditation has on their personal and professional lives. Ray Dalio, Arianna Huffington, Marc Benioff, even Rupert Murdoch are believers. About meditation and her digital detox routine, Padmasree Warrior, CTO and Strategy Officer, Cisco Systems, has been quoted as saying:

“It’s almost like a reboot for your brain and your soul. It makes me so much calmer when I’m responding to e-mails later.”

Meditation works for top executives, could it work for you?

YES! Absolutely!

Meditation has been used for thousands of years as a self-regulating tool and catalyst for self-awareness and self-management, improved personal and professional relationships, and improved cognitive function. This rich history makes it a perfect fit for the modern office environment.

Studies have shown that there are real benefits to meditation. They include:

  • Stronger focus
  • Staying calmer understress
  • Better memory
  • Good corporate citizenship

Are these traits you’d like to improve for yourself?

Meditation sounds nice, but meditating just feels like one more thing to add to my already overbooked to do list.

Do you think meditating sounds like a good idea? Would you like to do it but you don’t feel like you have time?

I know, it can feel so overwhelming. You feel like you have to get in the right mindset, wear comfortable clothes, and use a yoga mat. Then there’s the time. You can’t fit it in before work, you barely have time to get yourself and everyone out the door on time now and you’re NOT waking up earlier. Then after work it’s dinner, homework, and prepping for the next day. You’re just DONE.

So do it during work.

You don’t need a yoga mat, yoga pants or a calm mind (that’s what the meditation is for). Grab your earbuds, go to your car or close your office door, and hit the reset button. Schedule your 15-minute break during lunch, on your coffee break, before a big presentation, whenever you can fit it in. Add it to your Outlook calendar so it’s already scheduled and take time to re-frame your day.

That could work, what’s included in this package?

The Conscious Professional: Intro To Meditation Program comes with four 15-minute guided meditation sessions created for conscious professionals in a corporate environment using terminology that is consistent with that environment. No visualizations of babbling brooks and wispy clouds here. The meditations are designed to build on one another over the course of four weeks. When the four weeks is up, you can restart the program or use the sessions individually. Either way, they’re yours to keep and reuse FOREVER.

The meditations themes include:

  • Week 1: Clearing your cache- Your brain, like a computer, processes hundreds of thousands if not millions of points of data every day. Some of that data is used to power the programs and background applications that help you breathe, think, and create. Other data is just junk. A sea of temp files or old programs that are no longer used, floating around, slowing you down. Clear out those useless files so your super computer can run as efficiently as possible.
  • Week 2: Efficient processing- Now that you’ve cleared your cache, let’s work on more efficient processing of our attention, better known as concentration. This week, we’ll focus on using your energy in a more focused way.
  • Week 3: Upgrading your operating system- As humans, we have a habit of focusing more energy on the negative aspects of life rather than the positive ones. It’s not a quick fix, but consistently giving more attention to things that are good is possible, and it starts with upgrading your operating system to one that runs an algorithm that gives more weight to positive experiences than negative ones.
  • Week 4: Connecting to the network- Just like your work computer is connected to a network of individual computers powered by servers and energy sources, so are we. The connection or lack of connection we have with ourselves, others, and what we believe to be the source affects our every day lives. Our happiness, our level of fulfillment, and our ability to handle the stressors of life are affected by how plugged in we are to our energy network. This final week focuses on improving your network connection.

Give yourself the gift of focus and energy management with an ROI that will continue to increase for years to come.
